The great visa debate that has surprised us all. With PM Turnbull’s announcement to put Australians first when it comes to jobs, many businesses are left wondering what the implications will be for their skilled workforce. As it currently stands, 216 skilled occupations have been cut from the list of professions eligible for 457 visas. The Turnbull government also announced that there will be two different skilled visas in the future – one two year visa and one that will allow the skilled worker to stay in Australia for four years.
